How to merge PDF files

The merger uses a no-network architecture for processing:

  • Client-side merge: pages are copied losslessly with pdf-lib running on your device.
  • Zero network calls: no part of your files, their names, or their sizes leaves your browser. Verify in the Network tab.
  • No file storage: your PDFs stay in memory and are cleared when you reset the queue or close the tab.
  • No content analytics: we never log or transmit your filenames, page counts, or file bytes.
  • Works offline: load the page once, then disconnect from the internet — merging still works.

Can I reorder pages before merging?

You can reorder files in this version. Page-level reordering inside each file is on the roadmap.

Is there a file size or page limit?

There is no enforced limit. Practical limits depend on your device memory; very large queues show a heads-up before you merge.

Can I merge PDFs on my iPhone or Android?

Yes — the layout works on phones with large touch targets, and the merge runs in any modern mobile browser.

Does merging reduce PDF quality?

No. Pages are copied losslessly with pdf-lib's copyPages — we don't re-render or re-compress page content.

What happens to my files after I close the tab?

They are gone. Files only live in browser memory while the tab is open. We never persist them locally or remotely.

Can I merge password-protected PDFs?

Encrypted files are detected at intake and flagged with a lock icon. Remove or unlock them first, then merge. We never attempt to bypass protection.
