Tips for resizing images

  • Use Fit mode for social sharing

Fit mode scales your image to fill the preset canvas without cropping, adding white padding where needed. The result always matches the exact target dimensions.

  • Lock the aspect ratio for proportional scaling

Enabling the aspect-ratio lock ensures width and height scale together. Change one dimension and the other adjusts automatically.

  • Apply social media presets for instant sizing

The preset rail includes the most common platform dimensions — Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, and more. Click a chip to apply the target size instantly.

  • Avoid upscaling where possible

Enlarging a small image adds pixels the original never contained, which softens detail. Use the "Do not enlarge" toggle to cap the output at the original dimensions.

Frequently asked questions

How do I resize an image without losing quality?
Downscaling always reduces pixel count. For the best quality, use Fit or Fill mode and export to WebP or PNG. The tool applies a subtle unsharp mask when upscaling more than 150% to recover some perceived sharpness.
What is the difference between Fit, Fill, Stretch, and Crop?
Fit scales the image to fit inside the target rectangle, padding with white. Fill scales to cover the rectangle and trims the edges. Stretch distorts to the exact size. Crop lets you choose which part of the filled image to keep.
Can I resize multiple images at once?
Yes. Switch to Batch mode, add up to 20 images, configure the settings, and select Resize all. Download each result individually or grab all as a ZIP archive.
Does resizing an image change its file format?
Only if you choose a different output format in the Format dropdown. By default the tool outputs the same format as the source.
Are my images sent to a server?
No. All resizing runs in your browser using the Canvas API. Your images stay on your device throughout.
What is the maximum image size?
Each file can be up to 50 MB. In Batch mode the total across all files is capped at 200 MB. Output dimensions can be up to 16,384 × 16,384 pixels.
