Frequently asked questions

How random is the Yes No Picker Wheel?
Each spin uses crypto.getRandomValues(), the Web Crypto API, to produce a cryptographically secure random bit. The bit is mapped to Yes (0) or No (1) with no weighting or bias — over many spins each outcome appears exactly 50% of the time.
Is the result decided before or after the animation?
The result is decided before the animation starts. The wheel’s stop angle is calculated from the outcome so the pointer always lands on the winning segment. The animation is purely visual.
Does the wheel work offline?
Yes. After the initial page load the tool works fully offline. All logic runs in your browser — no server is contacted during a spin.
Are my spins saved or logged?
No. The session tally (Yes/No counts) is stored in memory only and clears when you reload the page. Nothing is written to local storage or transmitted anywhere.
Can I use a keyboard to spin the wheel?
Yes. Press Space anywhere on the page (when no text input is focused) to spin. Press Esc or click outside the result card to dismiss the dialog.
Is the wheel 50/50 or can I change the odds?
The wheel is always an exact 50/50 split. Custom weighting is outside the scope of this tool — use the Wheel of Names tool if you need adjustable probabilities.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. The wheel resizes fluidly for any screen size and responds to touch. The result dialog and dismiss controls are designed for easy tapping.
